Mr Kale, learned Govt. Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that during the pendency of this writ petition, certificate of validity dated 9 th August, 2018 has been issued in favour of the petitioner and, therefore, the purpose for which the petitioner instituted the writ petition does not survive any longer.

Considering the aforesaid submission, we are of the view that nothing survives for decision on this writ petition. The same stands disposed of, without costs.

It is, however, made clear that if the petitioner wishes to have any issue raised in this writ petition decided on merits, he shall be at liberty to apply upon notice to the respondents.
