The petitioner prays that action be initiated against respondent No. 7 for falling to provide information under the Right to Information Act.

We had called upon the learned AGP to take instructions as regards the progress made by the State Information Commissioner in Appeal No.1975/2022 and Appeal No. 2013/2022. The learned AGP submits on instructions that notices are yet to be issued in the said proceedings under section 20 of the Right to Information Act. Section 20 of the Act is a mechanism for dealing with, either delay on the part of the authorities in supplying information or for punishing the authorities for failing to supply the information despite directions.

In view of the above, this petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.3 to complete the pending proceedings initiated under section 20 of the Act, within a period of 60 days from today.
