The lands of the petitioners have been acquired way back in the year 2007. Initially proposal for acquisition of the said lands was dated 8/1/2008. For unknown reasons, it was dropped. Again the similar proposal was moved on 17/5/2022 i.e. after 14 years.

In the affidavit-in-reply filed on behalf of respondent No.6, it has been stated :-
Writ Petition No.8292/2022 :: 2 ::
"I say and submit that, after completion of the due process as per the objection raised by the petitioners this deponent on 31/12/2024 has sent a proposal to Land Acquisition Officer (Co-ordinator) Collector Office, Jalna, for an approval for corrigendum of Section 19(1) of the said Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, and so as to extend the tenure as per Section 25 of the said Act to declare final award."

Since the petitioners have been deprived of their lands way back in the year 2007, and have not been paid even a Rupee, the authorities i.e. respondents herein shall complete the acquisition process strictly in terms of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. If the same would not be completed and if the petitioners approach thereafter to this Court, we may think of directing the authorities concerned to deposit a hefty amount with this Court towards compensation to be paid to the petitioners.

Writ Petition stands disposed of.
