The petitioner is awaiting the decision of the Government pursuant to a favourable proposal forwarded by the University for staring a new college as contemplated under Section 109 of the Maharashtra Universities Act, 2016. The University by the communication dated 04 May 2023, has informed the Management about such forwarding of the proposal.

We dispose of the Writ Petition by directing the respondent no. 1 to take appropriate decision in accordance with law on the proposal as expeditiously as possible and in any case within a period of four weeks from today, on its own merits.
