PER COURT :- The grievance raised by the petitioner, in the instant petition is, in reference to the reservation of seat of Sarpancha in favour of woman ST category. According to the petitioner, such a seat for ST woman category is not prescribed, in the General Elections for the Members and as such, it would not be possible to elect the candidate belonging to aforesaid category for the post of Sarpancha. Such a situation is appropriately taken care of under the rules being Rule 2-A(4-a) of the Bombay Village Panchayat (Sarpancha & Upasarpancha) Elections Rules 1964.

In view of this specific provision, as referred to above, no interference is called for, in exercise of extraordinary jurisdiction under article 226 of the Constitution of India. Petition is devoid of substance and stands disposed of.
