DATE : 06/07/2017 PER COURT :- 1] The petitioner has cleared the Joint Entrance Eligibility Examination-Main and qualified for the further higher education in IITI, NIT, GFIT courses. The Joint Seat Allocation authority published a schedule for filing a preference form between 15th to 25th June 2017. The petitioner has filled in a preference form and is seeking to prosecute his studies against a reserved seat meant for Tadvi [Scheduled Tribe]. He has obtained a caste/tribe certificate but he is unable to obtain a validity certificate from the competent scrutiny committee. That certificate is forwarded but the claim is yet to be decided.

2] In the light of the fact that the rounds/counseling process for admission are to commence from 10th July 2017 onwards, we direct that the petitioner be allowed to participate in the same on an undertaking from him that in the event he is selected and admitted to

-2a specific course, his admission would be subject to production of a validity certificate from the competent scrutiny committee. We also direct that the scrutiny committee shall expedite the verification process and conclude it within a period of six months from today. The Writ Petition is disposed of with these directions.
