PER COURT :- Petitioner contends that, agricultural property belonging to him has been taken in possession for construction of village tank, in the year 2008. The proceedings for acquisition of the land were initiated in 2010 with issuance of Section 4 Notification. However, neither Award has been passed till this date, nor amount has been paid towards the price of the acquired area.

An affidavit in reply has been presented on behalf of respondent No.3, wherein, it has been stated that, at lest one year time period would be required for initiating and completing the acquisition proceedings and making payment of amount.

In the circumstances, the writ petition stands disposed of with direction to respondents No.2 to 4 to complete the acquisition proceedings in respect of the land taken in possession and to pay the amount of compensation to the petitioner in terms of the Award that would be declared, as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of one year from today.
