Looking at the admitted position that petitioners land was sought to be acquired and has been taken into possession, and no further progress took place after issuance of notification under Section 4 of the earlier Act i.e. the Land Acquisition Act,

wp13820.17 1894, and no award has been passed, the concerned respondents shall initiate land acquisition proceedings pursuant to relevant applicable enactment and complete the same as expeditiously as possible as per law. It is expected that the proceedings would be completed within a span of one year from the date of receipt of writ of this order.

Writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
