Although the petitioners have tendered applications to the Executive Engineer, Minor Irrigation Department, Latur, seeking rental compensation and copy thereof was transmitted to the Collector as well as Sub Divisional Officer, there does not appear to be proceedings initiated in pursuance to the applications for determination of amount of rental compensation by Respondent No.3 SDO/SLAO.

In the circumstances, these petitions can be disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioners to tender applications with Respondent No.3 Sub Divisional Officer for determination of amount of rental compensation. If the respective petitioners tender separate applications within six weeks from today, Respondent No.3 shall decide the same and determine issue of payment of amount of compensation in favour of the petitioners after extending an opportunity of hearing to the acquiring body, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within three months from the date of tendering of such applications. On determination of rental compensation by Respondent No.3, Respondent No.2 - acquiring body shall pay the amount, as determined, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months from the date of such determination.

{3} With the directions as above, writ petitions stand disposed of.
