The Municipal Corporation of Greater Bombay has filed this Petition, alleging that though it has appointed respondent no.2 against a reserved seat, the certificate known as Caste Certificate claiming that the respondent no. 2 belongs to Thakur Scheduled Tribe has not been validated by the competent Scrutiny Committee. The respondent no. 2 was appointed as Driver in 2009. 2.

Though this Court directed the Committee to scrutinize his claim expeditiously and within a time frame, till today, this order has

2 WP - 9000-2017 not been complied with by the Committee. Resultantly, the second respondent is enjoying all the benefits.

We do not think that we are passing any order against the second respondent, hence, we do not issue any notice to him. 4.

We dispose of this Writ Petition with a direction that the Committee, which has scheduled the proceedings in relation to the claim of the second respondent on 25/07/2017, shall endeavour to dispose of the pending proceedings, as expeditiously as possible and within a period of two (2) months from the date of appearance of second respondent before it. No extension will be granted. When we stipulate the period of two months, it is the outer limit not only for conclusion of the proceedings but for passing of the Order as well. 5.

Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly.
