DATE : OC TOBER 30, 2018 PER COURT It is submitted by learned Counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has been paid the arrears of pension amounting to Rs.2,13,715/- on 21.05.2018. The arrears, according to the petitioner, is for the period 2006-2011. According to learned Counsel, interest on the said amount of pension has not been paid. He submits that the regular pension is being paid it irregularly. Learned Counsel prays that directions may be issued to the respondent to pay interest on the arrears of pension amount for the period 2006-2011.

We have heard learned Counsel for the petitioner, learned AGP for respondent nos.1 and 3 and learned Counsel for respondent no.3.

It appears that there is delay in payment of arrears of the pension for the period 2006-2011. The same has been paid in May, 2018.

Considering the delay caused in payment of pension amount, we direct respondent no.2 to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum on the pension amount of Rs.2,13,715/- for the period from 2011 to May, 2018, within a period of three months from today.

The Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of. No costs.
