The petitioner who has already appeared at the NEET-UG2024, is anxious to get decision from the respondent no. 2 - scrutiny committee with whom proposal for verification of his tribe certificate is pending since June 2020.

It is being pointed out that the petitioner's father possesses a certificate of validity since year 2007 and the petitioner is ready to have a conditional validity.

Learned AGP, on instructions, submits that the committee would decide the petitioner's proposal within four weeks.

Considering the exigency, we dispose of the writ petition by directing the committee to decide the petitioner's proposal as expeditiously as possible and in any case within three weeks. 5.

The petitioner shall appear before the committee tomorrow i.e. 25 July 2024. The committee may consider the request of the petitioner for grant of certificate of validity co-terminus with that of the father.
