PER COURT :- It is not in dispute that, the petitioners individually have deposited amounts with the District Central Cooperative Bank in fixed deposit and the fixed deposits have matured. The petitioners contend that, even after maturity of the fixed deposit receipts, they have not been paid amount together with interest, in spite of making several requests. It is the obligation of the bank to pay the amount invested in the fixed deposits by depositors, along with interests. In the facts of the case, we deem it appropriate to direct the respondent bank to pay the amount deposited in the fixed deposits by the petitioners together with agreed amount of interest as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of three months from today and it is accordingly directed. Writ petition is disposed of.
