The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the land of the petitioners was taken in possession by respondents in the year 2009. The notification under section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act was also issued, but the award is not passed. 2.

Respondent No. 4 is acquiring body. Nobody appears for respondent No. 4, though served.

It is further submitted that the acquiring body has

WP No.9547/21 submitted fresh proposal on 22.09.2020 to S.L.A.O. under Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. But further steps are not undertaken.

Considering the fact that the earlier notification under section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act was issued and fresh proposal has been submitted on 22.9.2020, the respondents shall proceed with the acquisition proceeding (in case, the petitioners' land is affected), preferably within six months. Writ petition is accordingly disposed of. No costs.
