Petitioners apprehend that the landed property belonging to them will be taken in possession for development of Irrigation Project by Respondent No.5 and as such, seeks a direction against the Respondents for initiation of land acquisition proceedings and declaration of award.

It is informed by learned Counsel appearing for Respondent No.5 as well as learned A.G.P. that the proceedings in respect of acquisition are initiated in the year 2012, however, award has not, yet, been declared. It is further stated by learned Counsel appearing for Respondent No.5 that possession of the property would be taken, if deemed necessary, in observance of the procedure prescribed under Land Acquisition Act and apprehension expressed by the petitioners is ill founded.
