The petitioner who has been running a child care home under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000, is awaiting renewal of the licence under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.

Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that nothing has been communicated in turn. Some defects were pointed out, even those were complied with and till date, there is no decision and the directions be given in the light of the directions given in the matter of Mother Teresa Balakshram Vs. The State of Maharashtra and others (writ petition no. 7821 of 2021 and connected matters decided on 08-09-2022).

The writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to take appropriate steps and process the petitioner's proposal in accordance with law and in terms of the direction given in Mother Teresa Balakashram (supra) by giving it an opportunity of hearing and if necessary for complying with the shortcomings, if any. 4.
The decision shall be taken as expeditiously as possible and in any case within eight (8) weeks.
