This Court on 12.11.2020 passed interim order in favour of the petitioner.

The learned Counsel submits that the petitioner had applied with the Tahsildar for grant of EWS certificate. The same is not yet decided.

The Tahsildar shall consider whether the petitioner satisfies all the criteria for EWS certificate (in the state format). In case, the petitioner satisfies all the criteria for EWS,

2 wp 7888.20 then the application for EWS certificate shall not be rejected only on the ground that the petitioner belongs to Maratha caste. The same would only be for the educational purpose as referred to in the interim order dated 12.11.2020.

The said application shall be decided on its own merits, preferably within one (01) week.

Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of. No costs.
