The learned Advocate for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner is innocent and is willing to face the enquiries provided the documents which he has sought for, are supplied and the local MLA, whose letters and complaints are on record, which have triggered the departmental enquiry, should not influence the Enquiry Officer and influence the witness. Let the enquiry be completed within a specific time.

The Petitioner'

s charge sheet is dated 10.02.2023 and the show cause notice is dated 17.03.2023. The enquiry has not progressed thereafter. The Petitioner has sought certain documents vide application dated 07.08.2023.

This Petition is, therefore, disposed off with the direction that the documents sought by the Petitioner in the departmental enquiry be supplied to him. The procedure as is prescribed in Law for conducting a departmental enquiry shall be followed. The Enquiry Officer shall conduct the enquiry without being influenced by any extraneous circumstances and the enquiry should be concluded on or before 31.05.2024. The Petitioner as well as the Authority, which has issued the charge sheet, shall render co-operation to the Enquiry Officer and shall refrain from seeking adjournments on unreasonable and trivial grounds.
