The petitioner who is by now 31 years of age and apparently is serving somewhere may be private establishment is challenging the order of the Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal rejecting his original application that too on 13 February 2017 after lapse of eight years, whereby his application seeking direction for compassionate appointment was rejected. 2.

As can be seen, the petitioner's mother was in employment and had died on 19 December 1996. Petitioner's father applied for compassionate appointment on 07 December 2001. It is stated that the petitioner was then a minor. The petitioner after having attained majority on 13 September 2009 submitted application for compassionate appointment on 24 August 2015.

2 wp 7086.24 This timeline makes it abundantly clear that object of providing an ameliorating scheme for compassionate appointment has been lost long back. The petitioner has chosen not to challenge the order of the Tribunal for more than seven years. There is no merit in the petition.

The writ petition is dismissed.
