We have heard both the sides.

This court in the individual petitions of each of these

2 cp 677.23 petitioners was pleased to direct acquisition process to be undertaken under the new law as expeditiously as possible in view of the statement being made by the Sub Divisional Water Conservation Officer, who was the respondent No. 4. 3.

These contempt petitions were initiated since nothing was transpiring thereafter.

Though there have been some orders directing acquiring body to deposit certain amounts in this Court and even the learned A. G. P. today is seeking leave to deposit the money by filing affidavit in reply, copy of which he has tendered across the bar, in our considered view, since as has been submitted by the learned A. G. P. the awards have been passed, instead of allowing the respondents to deposit cheques in the Court, it would be appropriate that the Land Acquisition Officer undertakes disbursement in accordance with the award.

Since the fact of passing of the award is unanimous, nothing survives in the present contempt proceedings. The contempt proceedings are closed.
