The petitioner seeks pension and death gratuity alongwith interest. In fact the case of the respondent is that, after the year 1993 the petitioner did not turn up to the respondent - college and now the claim is made in the year - 2017 before this court. 2.

Considering the delay that has occurred, at present we are not inclined to consider the prayer of interest. Respondent Nos. 2 to 4 have filed affidavit-in-reply. Paragraph 10 of the affidavitin-reply reads thus -

I say and submit that the respondents are in process of the sanctioning admissible pension benefits to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible. I say and submit that a reasonable period may kindly be given for the purpose of sanction and grant of the admissible benefits in accordance with law."

In view of the statement made on oath by respondent nos. 2 to 4, the purpose of the writ petition to a major extent stands served. Respondent nos. 2 to 4 shall take the necessary steps and conclude the proceedings about the payment of admissible pensionary benefits to the petitioner expeditiously and preferably within three (3) months. If the respondents do not comply the said process within three (3) months, then the petitioner may stake claim of interest.
