Under his application dated 31-12-2020, request of the petitioner is to enquire into the alleged illegal mutation and file proceedings with sanction to the prosecution and, as such, seeks mandamus to respondent no. 2.

Having regard to aforesaid, we deem it appropriate that respondent no. 2 may decide the application on its own merits expeditiously preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of writ of this order. We make it clear that this order does not deal with the matter on merits at all. The decision shall be
