Heard the learned counsel for the applicant and the learned APP for the respondent-State.

The applicant seeks bail in Crime No.292 of 2024, registered with Karmad Police Station, District Aurangabad, for the offences punishable under Sections 7-A and 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The trap was led against the wife of the applicant, who was Sarpanch. It has been alleged against the applicant that the wife accepted the bribe and handed over to the applicant. Both were apprehended simultaneously. The necessary process of collecting the proofs was done and thereafter, the applicant was sent to PCR for three days.

It was a trap under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Generally, in the absence of any inquiry about the disproportionate asset, the investigation is over soon after the trap. The material investigation has been completed. It seems that his detention would serve no purpose. Hence, the following order :

O R D E R

(i) Bail Application is allowed.

(ii) Applicant ANAND RAMESH GAVLI be released on bail on furnishing P.B. and S.B. of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only) with one solvent surety of like amount, on the following conditions :

(a) The applicant should not tamper with the prosecution witnesses.

(b) He should attend the Police Station as and when called on written notice by the Investigating Officer till filing of the charge sheet.
