The submission of the petitioners is that their forefathers were holding land G.No.538 (Old S.No.145) before the same was allotted for establishing sugar factory. The lands are now being returned back to the original holders in accordance with the policy prescribed by the State Government and claim of the petitioners is under consideration of the Collector. As such, petitioners have approached this Court.

This Court, by an order dated 10.11.2014, granted leave to Respondent No.1 to hear the petitioners as well as Respondent No.5 and decide their eligibility and entitlement for allotment of said Gat Number; and has further directed the parties to maintain status quo.

{2} wp894114.odt Learned Assistant Government Pleader, appearing for Respondents No.1, 2 and 3, on instructions, states that entitlement of the petitioners or Respondent No.5 would be determined and thereafter further steps would be taken. Interim order passed by this Court on 10.11.2014 shall remain operative till Respondents No.1, 2 and 3 take appropriate decision in the matter. The Collector shall take decision on the claim raised by petitioners, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from today.

In view of the directions as above, writ petition stands disposed of. It would be obligatory on the part of RespondentState/State authorities to extend opportunity of hearing to all the parties concerned.
