The present writ petition has been filed for direction to the respondents authorities to undertake the exercise of determination of compensation payable to the petitioners.

It is contended by the petitioners that their land has been affected in view of the construction of a road. Upon a query, the learned Advocate for the petitioners submits that if no representation has yet been filed, the petitioners would file such a representation before respondent No.3 within a period of one week from today. The petitioners also undertake to deposit the amount for measurement within one week from today.

Learned Central Government Counsel waives service of notice for respondents No.1 to 3. He submits that if the land is measured and the findings are arrived at that the land of the petitioners is affected, then only the question of payment of compensation would arise. 4.
In view of the submissions made by the petitioners, if the petitioners deposit the amount for measuring the land and, along with the application/representation, submit a copy of the challan to respondent No.3, and the TILR or any other authority empowered to measure the land measures the same in view of the amount deposited, then upon receipt of the report, respondent No.3 shall take a decision on the representation. The entire exercise would be completed within a period of 4 to 6 months from today.

In view of the aforesaid observations, the writ petition stands disposed of.
