Heard. This petition has been filed seeking directions to register the crime against the Vice Chancellor of Agricultural University, Rahuri, District Ahmednagar for having breached the Government Circular issued under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and the disaster Management Act, 2005, since during

pandemic Covid-19, he held a meeting of over 50 participants. 2.

An affidavit-in-reply has been filed on behalf of respondent No.3, in which it has been stated that, the State Government took a policy decision to withdraw cases which have been instituted for commission of breach of directions issued under those Acts. In view of the same, and looking to the nature of offence alleged to have been committed, in our view, it is necessary to give a quietus to the matter. In view of the same, the petition stands disposed of.

The amount deposited by the petitioner be paid back to him along with interest accrued thereon.
