The petitioner who is running a child care home under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000 is now seeking re-registration or renewal under the successor Act of the year 2015.

Petitioner's proposal is pending with the authorities after removal of the objections since 03-05-2019 (Annexure 'B'). In a similar set of facts, we have issued the directions to the respondent - authorities to inform the applicants to remove the shortcomings and to consider their request afresh in the matter of Mother Teresa Balakashram Vs. State of Maharashtra and others (writ petition

2 WP / 9376 / 2023 no. 7821 of 2021 decided on 08-09-2022) and several other matters subsequently.

We dispose of the writ petition by directing the respondents to consider and decide the petitioner's application for renewal on its own merits as expeditiously as possible and in the light of the observations made in the matter of Mother Teresa Balakashram (supra) and in any case within twelve weeks.
