Mr Devakate, learned Counsel for the petitioner reiterates his request on the instructions of the petitioner to allow the petitioner to withdraw the writ petition and recall the show-cause notice issued to the petitioner on 21st September 2018.

We have considered the charges framed in the departmental enquiry against the petitioner, so also the proceedings. It appears that three years are left for the petitioner to retire on attaining the age of superannuation. Considering the charges framed and the punishment imposed, so also considering the explanation given, we feel that the punishment imposed is appropriate.

In view of that we drop the show-cause notice issued to the petitioner on 21st September 2017 and permit the petitioner to withdraw the writ petition.
