The case of the petitioner is that, the rule prescribing age of retirement as 57 years to the persons working with Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) below the rank of commandant has been struck down by the Delhi High Court in Writ Petition (C) No. 1951 of 2012 and other connected writ petitions under judgment and order dated 31.01.2019. SLP filed by the Union before the Apex Court is dismissed.

Mr. Deshpande, the learned ASG for the Union submits that, in view of the judgment of the Delhi High Court order has been issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Home

In view of that, the petitioner would be entitled to the benefit of said order. The petitioner may approach the respondent/employer. The respondent/employer shall thereupon act as per the order dated 19th August, 2019 placed on record. 4.

With these observations writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
