The petitioners, who are siblings, are seeking correction of the school record in respect of the reference to the caste. 3.

The application is dated 04/07/2018 [Exhibit-B] is pending with the respondent no.2 - Education Officer [Primary], Zilla Parishad, Hingoli.

The writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no.2 to pass appropriate order on the petitioners'

application [Exhibit-B], as expeditiously as possible and in any case within four weeks and in the light of the provisions of clause 26.4 of Secondary School Code, 1977 as well as the decision of the full bench in the matter of Janabai d/o Himmatrao Thakur Vs. State of Maharashtra and Ors. reported in 2019 (6) Mh.L.J. 769.

It is being pointed out by the learned Advocate for the respondent nos.2 and 3 that the application [Exhibit-B] is not in the prescribed form. If that be so, the petitioners shall submit a fresh application in the prescribed form and the respondent no.2 shall consider and decide it within four weeks of receipt of the application in the prescribed form.
