We have heard the learned advocate for the petitioners.

The petitioners alleges the contempt of the orders passed by this Court dated 28th February, 2019 in Writ Petition No.10148 of 2018. Under the said order, this Court directed the respondents to commence the acquisition proceedings within a period of four months.

Learned counsel for respondent nos.4 and 5 submits that the award has already been passed on 23.11.2020.

The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the compensation amount is not paid to the petitioners.

The affidavit is filed by the acquiring body to the effect that because of paucity of funds the payment could not be made to the petitioners.

6.

Considering the above, the respondents shall make the payment to the petitioners, as the petitioners may be entitled to under the award preferably within six months.

7.

The Contempt Petition is disposed of.

No costs.
