The learned AGP, on instructions, submits that the Land Acquisition Officer has already written to the respondent No.5 on 13.11.2014 to initiate the process of acquisition under the new act and is waiting for the steps to be taken by the respondent No.5.

The petitioners' lands have already been utilized for the public project of percolation tank way back in the year 2005 and till date even the process of acquisition has not commenced. 4.

We allow the writ petition, direct the respondents to take necessary steps for commencement of the acquisition process under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, within four months and to conclude it within the statutory period.
