We find that the representation dated 11/05/2023 is misconceived to the extent of the claim of the Petitioner for leave encashment, who is to retire after 18 months. The learned Advocate for the Petitioner agrees that leave encashment cannot be granted while in service.

In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed off. We grant liberty to the Petitioner to put forth a representation for seeking medical leave for the period of illness from 28/12/2006 to 23/02/2007, if such medical leave has not been granted.
