1] Heard learned counsel for the parties.

2] The petitioner seeks appointment on compassionate ground.

3] We need not dilate upon various aspects of the matter as learned counsel appearing for the Municipal Council has placed on record the letter dated 22.7.2016 received by the Municipal Council stating that the Deputy Director of Municipal Administration has asked the Chief

WP 9212/15 - 2 - Officer of the Municipal Council to take steps to appoint the persons on compassionate ground as per the seniority list maintained so also shall consider their educational qualifications.

4] The petitioner stands at Sr.No.16 in the list maintained by the Municipal Council of the persons seeking appointment on compassionate ground. As per the affidavit filed, there are posts available.

5] In view of that, the respondent no.4 shall take steps to appoint the persons on compassionate ground in accordance with the seniority list maintained by it, naturally considering the educational qualifications and the other aspects about the candidates being fit to be appointed. The said process shall be commenced within a period of three weeks from today. Writ petition is accordingly disposed of. No costs.
