The petitioner who is already possessed with the scheduled tribe certificate in form "C" under rule 4(6) and 5(2) (a) and (b) of the The Maharashtra Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Denotified Tribes (Vimukta Jatis), Nomadic Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Special Backward Category (Regulation of Issuance and Verification of) Caste Certificate Act, 2000 (Act) and Rules, wants a certificate in the form prescribed by the Central government. His application is pending with the respondent no. 2 - competent authority under the Act.

We dispose of the writ petition by directing the respondent no. 2 to issue scheduled tribe certificate to the petitioner in the form prescribed by the Central government as expeditiously as possible and in any case within two weeks.
