The learned counsel submit that the petitioners have applied with the Tahsildar for grant of EWS certificate. The same are not yet decided.

The petitioners shall file affidavit with the authority that he/she would not claim benefit of any reservation either vertical or horizontal during his/her entire educational career, if he/she is admitted from EWS category.

The Tahsildar shall consider whether the petitioner satisfies all the criteria for EWS certificate (in the state format). In

6 915-WP-8214-2020 +group.doc case, the petitioner satisfies all the criteria for EWS, then the application for EWS certificate shall not be rejected only on the ground that the petitioner belongs to Maratha caste. The same would only be for the educational purpose.

The said application shall be decided on its own merits, preferably within four (04) days.
