This petition has been filed seeking directions to the respondent No.2 to make correction in the S.S.C certificate of the petitioner in respect of his date of birth as 22nd July, 1997 instead of 17th May, 1999. In fact, the Education Officer (Secondary), Zilla Parishad, Aurangabad is the competent authority, who can consider the prayer of the petitioner.

In that view of the matter, we grant liberty to the petitioner to file an application with the Education Officer (Secondary), Zilla Parishad,

9496.15wp Aurangabad requesting therein for correction of his date of birth. Upon filing such an application by the petitioner in the prescribed format, the Education Officer (Secondary), Zilla Parishad, Aurangabad shall decide the same, as expeditiously as possible; however, within eight weeks from filing such application, keeping in view the provisions of Rule 26.3 and 26.4 of the Secondary Schools Code and Appendix VI thereof. However, we make it clear that Education Officer shall not reject the application on the ground that the petitioner has already left the school.

The petition stands disposed of in the above term.
