2] Perused the application and the judgment and order passed by the trial Court.

3] The applicant-appellant is convicted by the trial Court for committing offence under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act and sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay fine of Rs.10,000/-. The applicant is also convicted for committing offence under Section 13(1) (d) punishable under Section 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act and sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for two years and to pay fine of Rs.20,000/-.

1-1 -2The trial Court has suspended the sentence in order to prefer an appeal. Learned counsel for the applicant has argued that the punishment awarded is of two years. It will take long time to hear the appeal. It is further submitted that there is arguable case in favour of the applicant.

4] Having regard to the fact that the maximum sentence awarded is of two years, it is desirable to release the applicant on bail. Hence following order :

ORDER

The application is allowed in terms of prayer clause "B".

2] Pending appeal, sentence awarded by the trial Court stands suspended on deposit of fine. Pending disposal of appeal the applicant be released on bail on his furnishing bail in the sum of Rs.50,000/- with one or two solvent sureties in the like amount.

3] Applicant shall furnish addresses and phone numbers of his three close relatives. In case he changes his own address, the same be intimated to concerned police station as well as to this Court.

4] Bail to be furnished in trial Court.
