According to the petitioner, the application for grant of rental compensation is pending with the authority since the year 2012, the same is not yet decided. In fact, the application has to be filed before the Land Acquisition Officer. It appears that the application is filed before the Collector and the copy of the same is given to the Land Acquisition Officer.

The petitioners may file proper application with the Land Acquisition Officer for grant of rental compensation. In case, such an application is filed by the petitioners with the authority, then the authority shall after hearing all the concerned 1/2

73.odt parties shall decide the said application on its own merits, in accordance with law, expeditiously and preferable within a period of nine months from the date of filing the application. The writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
