1] Mr. Palodkar, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the declaration under Section 6 of the Land Acquisition Act r/w. Section 126(4) of the MRTP Act, was issued in the year 2011. As yet, the award is not passed. As such, acquisition proceedings have lapsed. According to learned counsel no further steps are taken by the respondents. 2] Mr. Karlekar, learned AGP, on instructions, states that the acquisition proceedings would be completed within six months from today. The said statement is accepted. Naturally, if the award is to be passed henceforth, the provisions of the amended Land Acquisition Act, 2013, as applicable to the present acquisition would apply. Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
