The petitioner, who is the investor and a victim in Crime No. 729/2022, registered with Gangapur police station, subsequently transferred to Newasa police station, for the offences punishable under Sections 420, 120-B, 406 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code and under Section 3 of the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (In Financial Establishments) Act, 1999 (M.P.I.D. Act), is before us seeking a direction to the respondent no. 2 to take appropriate steps in the light of Section 4 of the M.P.I.D. Act.

It is being pointed out that the petitioner has already filed a complaint/request purportedly under sub Section 1 of Section 4 of the M.P.I.D. Act on 18.12.2019 (Exh. C) in the office of the respondent no. 2Collector, which was received by it on the same day. 4.

The Criminal Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 2 to take into consideration the petitioner's complaint dated 18.12.2019 1/2

60 CRWP 1238 22.odt (Exh. C) and take appropriate steps in the light of Section 4 of the M.P.I.D. Act, as expeditiously as possible and in any case within four weeks.
