We have heard the learned Advocates for the respective sides.

These petitions are only for seeking directions to make the payment of compensation along with 18% interest. The lands have already been acquired by a Notification dated 14.11.2018 and the awards have been delivered on 13th August, 2019 and 16th August, 2019, respectively.

The learned ASG places before us a copy of the communication dated 22.03.2022 addressed by the Assistant Executive Engineer for Regional Officer, Mumbai, office of the Chief Engineer, Government of India, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, to the Chief Engineer (NH), State PWD Maharashtra, Konkan Bhavan, Mumbai. The same is taken on record and marked as X-1 for identification.

In view of the above, we are disposing off these two petitions with directions to the concerned respondents to ensure that the entire compensation amount along with accrued permissible interest shall be paid to them, on or before 21st June, 2022, failing which, the act of the responsible respondents shall be treated as disobedience of this order.
