It is submitted that the petitioners have been awarded certificates of excellent work, however, they are not given the benefit of additional increments.

We have heard the learned Assistant Government Pleader for respondent Nos. 1 and 2 and Mr. Sonawane, the learned Advocate for respondent Nos. 3 to 6.

In case, the petitioners are awardees of the excellent work

2 wp 10250.19 prior to 24.08.2017, then the authorities of the Zilla Parishad after confirming that the petitioners are the District awardees and awarded certificates of excellent work, shall consider the cases of petitioners for additional increments as laid down under the Government Resolution governing grant of additional increments to the excellent work awardee teachers. The same shall be decided on its own merits within a period of six months from today.

It is made clear that the Government Resolution dated 24.08.2017 does not have retrospective operation and will not be applicable to the teachers who have been awarded certificate of excellent work prior to the said Government Resolution. This would not apply, if the petitioners are issued with the certificates of excellent work.

The writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
