1) Heard. The petitioner claims to belong to "Rajput Bhamta" caste, which is included in Vimukta Jati" VJ, category. The Caste certificate issued in favour of the petitioner is referred to the Caste Scrutiny Committee for verification in the year 2012 and according to the petitioner, the caste claim is pending with the competent Scrutiny Committee since then.
2) The petitioner has secured an admission to Engineering (I.T.) course in Respondent No.4-College as against a seat reserved for VJ category. The
petitioner apprehends that as a result of his failure to submit the caste validity certificate, the Respondents/institutions may take an adverse action against him.
3) In the facts and circumstances of this case, this petition can be disposed of by directing Respondent No.2-Committee to take decision on the caste claim of the petitioner pending with it since 2012, as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of six months from today, and it is accordingly directed. In the meanwhile, Respondent No.4-College shall not take any coercive action against the petitioner on the ground of his failure to submit caste validity certificate.
4) With the directions, as above, the writ petition is disposed of.
