PER COURT:- 1.

The petitioner seeks correction of entry of caste in the school record.

The application is rejected on the ground that the petitioner has left the school.

We have heard Mr. Dambe, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.G.P. and Mr. Patil, learned counsel for respondent no.3.

The petitioner it appears has left the school in the year 1986. The application is made after 22 years. The entry in the school record can never be erased. The petitioner wants the word 'Wani' to be inserted in the caste column and

(2) 930-wp-12672-2018 submits that in the school record of all other kins the entry is of 'Lingayat Wani'.

It will not be fruitful to allow the petitioner to insert the word 'Wani' in his school record. As even if, the directions are given to insert it, it would be deemed to have been inserted on the day on which the said entry is inserted. The petitioner may explain and put forth his case before the committee relying on the other entries. It is for the committee to consider the same. 6.

With these observations, writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
