The petitioners are seeking caste certificates in prescribed format 'C'.

We have heard both the sides.

It appears that the petitioners were issued the caste certificates by respondent - competent authority in form 'B' when it ought to have been issued in format 'C' as per the rules of 2003 framed under the Maharashtra Act No. XXIII of 2001. They seem to have

2 WP / 9319 / 2024+ submitted online applications again on 13-08-2024, respectively and are now soliciting a direction for issuance of fresh caste certificates. 4.

Writ petitions are disposed of by directing the petitioners to appear before the respondent - competent authority tomorrow i.e. 30 August 2024, surrender their original caste certificates and thereafter the respondent - competent authority shall issue fresh certificates in the prescribed format within one week thereafter.
