The challenge in this writ petition is to the order passed by the competent authority attaching the assets of the petitioner in exercise power under Section 4 of Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (In Financial Establishment) Act, 1999 (the MPID Act). The said order has been attached by the competent authority/SDO. In our view, the petitioner has first to exhaust the remedy under Sections 6 and 7 of the MPID Act, by approaching the designated Court, which is admittedly very much available at Newasa which is seized of the jurisdictional area of Newasa, where the offence is said to have been committed. The learned advocate for the petitioner proposes to avail the said remedy.

In view of the same, the writ petition stands disposed of with a liberty to the petitioner to approach the designated Court for appropriate relief.
