This matter was heard in the first session. The learned advocate for the petitioner placed on record a communication received from the Desk Officer, Government of Maharashtra, dated 04.04.2022, by which the petitioner has been conveyed that the Government is considering the proposal of the petitioner for opening a college of Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) courses. The said communication is taken on record and marked as "X-1" for identification.

A pass over was granted to enable the learned A.G.P. to take instructions. The same Desk Officer has informed the learned A.G.P. vide a message dated 11.10.2022, a print out of which is placed before us. The same is taken on record and marked as "X-2" for

cp547.21 -2identification. The learned A.G.P. submits that in two months time, the decision with regard to grant of permission to the petitioner would be taken on it's own merits.

The learned advocate for the petitioner prayed for a lesser duration.

In view of the above, this contempt petition is disposed off by recording the above statement. We make it clear that the department would take a decision as expeditiously as possible and in any case, on or before 30.11.2022. Since this statement is being recorded in contempt proceeding, any disobedience would be considered as aggravated contempt.
