PER COURT:- 1.

The proposal for correction of name and date of birth has been refused on the ground that the petitioner has left the school.

It is submitted that this Court in number of matters has held that Clause 26.4 read with Appendix VI of the Secondary School Code is directory in nature.

Considering the above, the impugned order is quashed and set aside. The Education Officer shall reconsider the proposal forwarded by the management for correction of name and date of birth of the petitioner in the school record on its own

(2) 62-wp-12383-2018 merits, after following procedure as is laid down in the Appendix VI and Clause 26.4 of the Secondary School Code expeditiously.

Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
