The petitioner's application for grant of 28 days parole has been rejected on the ground of him having been surrendered late by 152 days on availing corona pandemic parole.

The learned APP informs that the petitioner is entitled for 21 days of furlough.

The petitioner is said to be in open prison. For his overstay the authorities may take up appropriate proceeding against him so as penalise him in that regard. Since furlough is an entitlement of the petitioner, we direct the authorities concerned to grant him 21 days of furlough on usual conditions as are imposed in respect of furlough granted to prisoners in open prison.
